Conformation Title Listings

Conformation titles are those earned by “show dogs” in competitions that judge dogs on their structure, movement, overall appearance, temperament, and adherence to written breed standards that describe the “perfect” dog for a particular breed. These standards are developed by national breed parent clubs in an effort to outline characteristics that allow a breed to perform the function for which it was developed. They are also measures of a dog’s breeding quality. Most dogs entered in conformation shows are competing for points toward their championships, although finished champions can continue to show and earn points and rankings. Breed parent clubs may offer their own conformation titles. All championship titles can be listed before a dog’s name once they have been earned.
